EXCLUSIVE 40 ACRE FAMILY COMPOUND ON ORCAS ISLAND.

The New Gedney Estate is a private compound consisting of 40+ beautiful acres, complete with two private lakes – one stocked with rainbow trout and the other featuring a swimming dock, float, and island that’s perfect for picnics!. More than 10 acres have been cleared and landscaped by Richard Haag. The sweeping lawns, a 1000 foot bluestone patio and trails linking the various structures and areas will encourage guests to gather, enjoy, and explore this special property.

The Estate is comprised of numerous homes and buildings that may be combined to offer lodged suitable for up to 22 guests. These configurations may be viewed as # 216, #217, #218 or as the entire property (#219.)

At the hub is a meticulously restored eighteenth century barn. Guests will marvel at the integrity of form and function – with soaring 26 foot high ceilings and deluxe kitchen, dining seating for up to 22, and a stage and a microphone, the barn offers a perfect gathering place for those attending family reunions and retreats.

In the barn is a queen sofabed, and two bedrooms that are separated by a sliding door.

Nearby, ten additional people can sleep in the Paddock, an old-fashioned bunkhouse with authentic Adirondack furnishings. There are two queen sleeping compartments and two custom bunks with a trundle, middle, and top sleeping space. There are two cabins featuring antiques and art on Boss Lake. One cabin offers a queen bed, the second cabin offers two twin beds. (There is no plumbing in these cabins. Occupants of the cabins will find a bathroom, washer and dryer, and closets in the nearly bathhouse.) The Main House is sited on a beautiful rocky knoll. In the master bedroom, you’ll find a king-size antique wrought-iron bed. The large master bathroom features a tiled Shower and a claw-foot tub. There is also a guest room with two twin beds.

This property cannot be booked on line. Rentals will be offered subject to availability, deposit conditions, and the owner's specific agreement of the intended property use and guest list. The entire property rents for $25,000 per week in the summer; please call our office to inquire about arrangements and details.
