Your family will splash in the tide, launch kayaks from the beach, play board games by the fire, and make memories that last a lifetime in “A Sailor’s Rest.” A buoy is designated for guest use.
This charming home has been remodeled and updated for comfort, yet it retains a classic island feel. It’s delightful and cozy indoors, but you’ll likely spend a lot of time outside, breathing the clean sea air, dining on the deck, maybe soaking away a “good tired” in the hot tub. Beyond the shoreline, there’s a view of the Olympic Mountains, neighboring islands, and the passing boat traffic.
The configuration of queen and twin beds will accommodate a variety of guests and age groups. The master bedroom has its own pot-belly stove and private tiled bath with a whirlpool tub. The kitchen is equipped with the basics, but you might consider bringing specialty cookware if you will be preparing a gourmet feast. The home does offer some wheelchair accesibile courtesies, but do confirm specific details with a reservationist if this will be a booking consideration.
You'll need to confirm whether the mooring buoy is available and suitable for your boat if you intend to use it. So, please call the vacation rental department to make the booking if you would like to reserve the buoy.
The numerous conveniences provided and the attraction of rare walk-out waterfront make this home an exceptional value.
Rentals of less than 7 nights may be considered on a near-term booking during Peak Season if there is availability. Call to inquire.
A Sailor’s Rest is located in the Olga area in a neighborhood of beach frontage homes. Your beach is posted as private property. A public day-use dock and boat ramp are nearby. (In summers, a walk-on ferry may be scheduled from Bellingham.)
It’s a 40 minute drive from the Orcas ferry landing to A Sailor’s Rest, during which you will drive through the town of Eastsound and the forested hiking trails of Moran State Park. In addition to the shops and dining options in Eastsound, there are also several restaurants and shops in nearby Olga, Rosario, and Doe Bay.
